Boil the water first. Then add the sugar. Let it cool. If you make excess, you can store the excess in the refrigerator. We recommend that if you do that, let it warm to room temperature before putting it in the feeder. (That is for the birds’ comfort and not for the feeder.)

Do not add food coloring, honey, or artificial sweeteners!
